Battery Calibration / MaxError

The easiest way to get Max Error back to 1% is to charge to full, rest for 2 hours, discharge to empty, and rest for five hours.  This will update Qmax and reset Max Error back to 1%.

The 5 hour rest period is just a guideline. If you have access to the pack, you can monitor either Qmax or Max Error.  If Qmax changes or Max Error updates to 1%, you can end the rest period and charge the pack back up.

Thanks again.  Regarding the 2 hour rest at full charge, is there a parameter that can be monitored to end that rest prior to two hours?

There isn't really a parameter to monitor for the 2 hour rest at full charge.

Will the 2 hour rest at full be sufficient every time? Is there a margin associated with the two hours?

Yes, 2 hours rest time after the charge cycle will guarantee an OCV reading for all cells except for LiFePO4. For LiFePO4 cells a rest of 5 hours will guarantee an OCV reading.

Empty is define as discharging down to the Terminate Voltage, which is a data flash variable in the gauge.
