Hi TI team,

Is it possible to get Device ID TPS549A20? If yes, what is the register address and default value.

As I know other part TPS549D22, it have the Device ID from register(0xFC)

The TPS549A20 uses Command Code 0xFC for PMBus self-discovery. The expected response should be an SMBus Read Word transaction with value 0x0089

Remember that SMBus Read Word defines the byte order of a WORD value as Low Byte, High Byte so the returned bytes, in the order received, will be 89h 00h

Note: The TPS549A20 shares the same discovery code with the TPS53819A, TPS53915, and TPS53913

DEVICE_ID - Command Code 0xFC, is not listed in the TPS549A20 datasheet, but it is how our TI FUSION software identifies this family of devices. It is not listed in an official document at this time.

One more question on the command register 0xFC.

Low Byte(00h) stand for Revision Code?

High Byte(89h) stand for ID Code?

Am I right on the naming code above?

No. The Device Codes were values assigned to development projects. They are not definitively split into Device and Revision sub-sets.

No, there is no revision code for the TPS549A20.

We able to get some reading from command 0xFC. But the value is high byte (0x00) and low byte (0x90). Is this value correct?

I have confirmed that both 0x0089 and 0x0090 are expected responses for reads to command code 0xFC.

There is no functional difference between the 0x0089 and 0x0090 devices.
