BQ24650: Setting battery temperature range

Part Number: BQ24650

Hello, do you have an Excel sheet to calculate the RT1 and RT2 resistor values?

The math in equations 7 and 8 is a bit more than I want to trust that i get right when doing it manually.

I'm reviewing a design that uses a 2.55k pull-up to VREF and an 8.06k pull-down to GND. The alleged temperature range is -20C to +65C: did they calculate these correctly?

Thanks,

Derek

  • Dear Derek,

May I ask what thermistor you are using? This is a key part in determining how the resistance network changes with temperature.

However, so you can get started, we do have an excel spreadsheet to assist with calculating the temperature range. In the product folder, go to Technical Documentation, and there should be a bq246xx Calculation Tool.

    Thanks,

    Mike Emanuel
