BQ24650: New suggestion for solar power charger with power path management

Hi team,

customer need a 1-cell changer IC, need standalone control mode with power pathe management in solar application. The charging current is about 2A.

I find the BQ24650, but it can't support power path, do you have other recommendations? thank you

Hi Betty,

What is the solar panels VOC and/or MPP? If VOC < 8V, then I recommend BQ24250.

Hi Jeff,

BQ24250 can work in I2C control and standalone. I would like to confim that if the BQ24250 work in standalone,it still need I2C control or I2C registers in default mode? customer can't use I2C to control IC.

Betty,

BQ24250 can work standalone or I2C. BQ24253 is 100% standalone.
