LMR36506-Q1: Inductor value for low power

Part Number: LMR36506-Q1

Hi Team,

We need know the value inductor for our design because we have constraint space and height in this design.

Which one we can use 6.8uH, 33uH or 47uH inductor for our load is 5-20mA. And also the output capacitor also need your suggestion for small value and size.

Hi Team,

Please find the below input and specifications

Input Voltage : 6V to 20V

Output voltage : 2V @ 10mA and Maximum 20mA.

But in datasheet is not mentioning any where for low load current (10 -20mA). That's why we asking from TI.

In Shared User guide also we didn't seen the information for low load condition.

We want know if any problems come for load, because of using the 33uH inductor for low load condition.

Hi Arasu,

I ran a webench simulation and the value of inductor that webench recommended is 6.8uH.

The output capacitor is 2x100uF. In general the light load should not be an issue since if it is stable at full load, the part would be stable at light load.

You can select the MODE pin if you want to have fix frequency at light load or if you want to operate in PFM mode.
