LMG1210: LMG1210 Half Bridge MOSFET and GaN FET Driver

Hey guys,

I was using the LMG1210 in independent input mode (IIM) for high side switching. I want my input EN/HI pin to be isolated from my output pin HO. I'd like to know if the IC (LMG1210) inherently provides isolation or will I have to provide an external isolation? I appreciate any help on this. Thanks!

Hi Karan,

Thanks for reaching out on e2e. LMG1210 CMTI rating is due to a high voltage level shifter that translates the HI signal to HO with respect to HS with CMTI of 300V/ns. For safety isolation of the input signal this driver needs a signal isolator like iso77xx devices. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hey Jeff,

Thank you for your response. I meant does the IC provide an inherent galvanic isolation? I'm doing some level shifting & require input & output to be galvanically isolated.

Hi Karan,

Thanks for the follow up. Lmg1210 is not isolated and requires external isolator like iso77xx.

For an isolated gate driver check out ucc21xxx series of isolated gate drivers.
