Hi Team ,

My customer is surveying the gauge solution and would like to ask which solution (BQ27542-G1 or BQ27750) is better fit for below requirement

1. battery pack side gauge

2. battery cell capacity is about 3700mAH

3. Accuracy Error <=1%

4. compensate for transient effect and aging as well as temperature changing

5. needed able to achieve function to read battery's charge cycling , and battery healthy (like mobile phone's app)

per my check , both solution is fit for point 1.2.5 , BQ27542-G1 looks it can fit point 4 also ,but it didn't shown the battery monitor accuracy percentage in d/s, and for BQ27750, it can fit the accuracy below 1% , but I don't found the description in d/s shown it can support point 4.

please kindly help for the suggestion , thanks!

Hi Andy,

In my opinion, both of them should fit since they are flash-based IT gauges.

BQ27750 is based on a newer hardware platform and support protection features. I would recommend bq27750.

Hi Andy,

Based on your requirements, please consider these two options:

1) bq27z561-R1: latest 1S gauge, Impedance Track algorithm for optimal SOC accuracy, pack side

2) bq27742-G1: 1S gauge, integrated protector, Impedance Track algorithm for optimal SOC accuracy, pack side

Both of these can support your point 4 as well if that's your concern.

Noted, I will recommend BQ27750 for customer.

Hi Rushi,

since customer is choosing the solution between BQ27750 & BQ27542-G1 , so if both solution can fit the points(1~5) above, then I would recommend BQ27750 as Andy's suggestion first.

Hi Andy_Lin,

BQ27750 is based on newer HW, however we are currently developing a newer gauge with integrated protection which will replace this device from longevity perspective. We are still supporting existing customers for this device, however for newer designs I suggest BQ27742-G1 or BQ27z561-R1 for now.

Hi Rushi,

noted, I will recommend BQ27550 first , and mention that we have newer solution BQ27742-G1 &BQ27z561-R1 for them to consider if they are interested to go for newest device.
