BQ24650: bq 24650 hybrid charge controller

Hello! I make 100Ah 12V lead acid battery hybrid charge controller, based on BQ24650, that can charge both - from solar panel and from ac-dc power suply. Can i simply connect ac-dc power supply by diode parralel to solar panel? What reccomend voltage and current  of power supply i need?

    Hi,

    Yes you can connect the input supplies in a diode or configuration so that the input supply is the higher of the 2. Note that at high input currents this would result in significant power losses. Assuming at sunlight you prioritize solar panel, then I would select the power supply voltage to be less than OCV of solar panel but greater than MPP.
