I have a customer who is looking for a BQ2040 interface board. Is EV2300 compatible with BQ2040?

    Hi Franz,

    The EV2300 is compatible with the bq2040 because EV2300 supports SMBus. However, i do not think that is what you meant to ask.

    I think you meant to ask if EV2200-40 software is compatible with a combination of EV2300 and bq2040. The software is not compatible with EV2300 as it was written to use the EV2200.

    bqStudio works with the EV2300 but is not intended/designed to work with the bq2040.

    If the customer just wants to read the SBS parameters, then any software that reads SBS parameters will work. If the customer wants to perform other actions, especially writing to the gauge, then the EV2200-40 software is needed.
