TPS23521: negative 12V operation at EVM

Hi team,

Could you give me comment on following customer questions?

Q1. Can the customer use TPS23521EVM as -12V operation by replacing some external components?

Q2. Can the customer turn on and off TPS23521 as high side switch by external signal?

    Hi Takeshi,

    TPS23521 can support -12V operation. It is a low side switch controller, for 12V high side switch operation please look at TPS2595, TPS25982, LM25066 devices

    Hi Rakesh,

    Thank you for your comment. Yes, the customer wants to use TPS23521 as -12V operation.

    But, when the customer wants to operate TPS23521EVM as -12V, the EVM looks VIN=RTN -Neg48V=36V to 72V. So, it looks VIN only supports 36V to 72V as default, not 12V. Could you give me advise on how to use the EVM as -12V operation?

    Hi Takeshi,

    You need to adjust resistor ladder values at UVEN and OV pins. Please follow equations 25 to 28 in the datasheet 

    To get started use 1.5k for R1; 200k for R3 and 18k for R12
