BQ76PL455A-Q1: Blank serial number read

Part Number: BQ76PL455A-Q1

We are able to read all registers (16 voltages, 8 aux channels, internal temperatures, status, etc) successfully. However reading the serial number yields zero result. The intention is to use the TI serial number as part of a unique identifier for every board. Lot number reads fine (0xBE - 0xC5), although two hex numbers differ every time we read another pl455. Currently reading 0xC6 - 0xC7. Could it be we are somehow reading the wrong register?

  • Hi Johan,

Since these registers are factory they are not meant to be used by customers for this purpose. Sorry for any inconvenience, typically a unique address can be programmed using external EEPROM or another method if needed.

    Regards,
