Hi,

I use the Webench Power Designer to develop a boost converter using TLV61046A.

The Boost circuit will converte 5Vcc to 24Vcc@60mA.

The circuit works but a load at 4mA (the minimum load) the voltage of the output of the converter is 13V.

I don't know what hapens and the components are the same as the bill of the material.

Could help me with this circuit or I need to change to get 24V@60mA output?

Hi Minqiu Xie,

First, thank you for your attention.

Attached is an electrical diagram and photo of the assembly used for testing.
The unloaded circuit has a 24V voltage at the output but when a 4mA load is placed the output voltage goes to 12.5V.
My question is if the project was designed for 60mA output, why did only a current of 4mA cause the output voltage to drop to 12.5V?

Hi Edson:

Switch power has high rate dv/dt, di/dt. So the layout is very important.

Your setup is unreliable and will bring a lot of parasitic parameters. It will cause unexpected issue, and hard to debug.

I'll recommend you build an PCB or apply an EVM for test.

Hi Minqiu,

Ok, I'm going to design a PCB according to the datasheet but I would like to know if the project that was elaborated on WEBENCH, I mean, a 24V output with 60mA is correct and the circuit with a new layout will work?

Or, do you have another suggestion?

Hi Edson:

It's OK if Vin=5V.

Please follow the Layout Guidance in datasheet closely. So that the circuit will operate as expected.
