Hello,
I need a comparable TI LED driver to the LT3496 from analog devises.

Hi Jan,
The most similar devices from the product line are: TPS54201(Buck), TPS61196(Boost). Maybe you can also check with LPP team, maybe they have a more good choice.
BTW, what's the detail application? Since for LT3496, it can be configured with different topology, so what's the detail configuration for your application?

Hi Sean,
sorry for the late response. The customer wants to drive a string of RGB Leds with the LT3496. He told me that he needs less than 100mA per string, but a supply voltage of Vout_min= 28V per color string with an input voltage of Vin=24V. The current should be controlled separately for each string. The LED driver should have a small footprint and a small power loss, because the housing is very small and not ventilated. The application is a controller for a vending machine. I talked with the customer about the opportunity to use 3 TPS92612, because he was also looking for the BCR430U from Infineon. However, I also found the TPS92630 and the TPS92830. Do think that they will be a good choice for the application?
Best regards,
Jan
Hi Sean
I suggested the TPS92630 to the customer. He ask me if this IC has a high power loss when all three color strings are driven by the same input voltage, because each color needs a different voltage level. Do have information about the power loss in this setup?
Best regards
Jan
Hi Sean,
the customer wants to know how much power loss the chip can handle until it's getting overheated. He ask this because the customer can get an issue with temperature due to the small housing size of the application.
