TPS62802: PFM Mode.

Part Number: TPS62802

Hello

I Designed using TPS62802 under the following conditions

VIN : 3.1V ~ 3.2V

Vour : 3.0V

However, it does not work in PFM mode under Light Load.
So when Vin was increased to 3.7V, PFM worked.
what Is there an input voltage value compared to the output for the PFM to operate?

Best Regards.

  • Hi,

The conditions you specified indicate a 100% mode operation.

For a better understanding of the PFM or PWM mode of operation, I would recommend to read Section 8.4 in the datasheet.

  • Hi Febin

    Thanks for your support.

Could you tell me the conditions under which PFM Operate?

    Best Regards.

  • Hi,

There is an automatic transition to PFM mode when the converter has light load conditions if you enable Power Save mode.

You could only choose to enable the Power Save Mode mode or Forced PWM mode. The boundary between PWM and PFM mode is when the inductor current becomes discontinuous.
