Battery solutions?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ76930, BQ76942

At present, there is a 24V / 200AH energy storage battery evaluation, the battery needs to use 7s80p, my customer intends to make four 7s20p modules for parallel use; in this case, it needs to use the structure of 1 master and 4 slave; does Ti have such a scheme recommended?

  • HI Kevin,

    What are you looking for?

    We only have monitoring solution for us.

    Is there a specific device you are interested or want us to recommend one?

    Can you provide little more details on features and functions that your customer wants?

  • My preliminary assumption is that each slave board uses a bq76930 to collect the voltage and temperature information, and the main board uses MCU to scan the parameter information of each slave in time, and the protection function and current sampling are placed on the main board;

    1. Is there any problem with the application of bq76930, and is there a more suitable front-end chip for Ti to recommend?

    2. It is better to provide reference circuit schematic diagram of such application;

    3. Bq76930 has less temperature sampling, is there any AFE chip with more temperature sampling?

  • Hi Kevin,

    The BQ76930 is probably the best option available for this application. The I2C slave address cannot be modified for this device. The BQ76942 might also be a good option and will go into production later this year. This device can be configured with different I2C slave addresses.

    Best regards,

    Matt
