TPS92612-Q1: Heat Sharing resistor Rp

Part Number: TPS92612-Q1

Dear Team,

If we connect Rp (Heat sharing resistor) & PWM is LOW then there will be some current flow from

VDD--> Rsns --> Rp --> LED--> GND.

How to avoid this situation? Do we need to add one more switch in supply path for each driver?

regards

Vinod Sharma

  • Hi Vinod,

    If you want to use Rp to share the thermal, you can add a PMOS to control the  Rsns --> Rp --> LED trace.

    But I recommend you to use a larger package device or use diode series with LED in a thermal considering application.

    I think that cost should be lower than using a PMOS.
