BQ24780S: Charger input current sense & charge current sense tolerance curve

Part Number: BQ24780S

Hi Ti Support

I have a question about charger input current sense & charge current sense tolerance curve.

Because in your datasheet, there is only few tolerance specified on some current (voltage difference on some resistor)(Current sense amplifier gain accuracy)

We need more detail tolerance beside these points.

thank you~!

  • Hi Jeffic,

The spec on the datasheet is characterized and guaranteed. It is impractical to characterize points crossing the operation range. Other points could be estimated based on available points.

  • Hi Eric

Ok, got it. Let me ask in other way.

If I would like to minimize my AC current sense accuracy within +-3.5%, and I have 2 kind of adapter 45W. (19V_2.37A, 15V_3A)

What kind of sense resistor should I use? 10mohm or 20mohm?

    thank you~

  • Hi, Jeff,

Generally speaking, higher current sense (CS) resistor value, higher CS signal level, more CS accuracy. The side effect is more dissipation. Please also pay attention to the maximum CS signal level ~80mV.

You can achieve +/-2% with 20mohm when AC current is higher than 2A. Suggest 20mohm.
