TPS563201: Placement of input capacitors etc.

Part Number: TPS563201
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS563210A

Hi,

According to TPS563201A datasheet P.13 Figure17, we can find three C (0.1uF, 10uF, 10uF). In general, Vin pin is near Lower capacitors. In other word, 0.1uF capacitor is more near than 10uF capacitors. Is my understand correct?   Please advise us.

According to TPS563210A datasheet P.18, we can find the recommended R, L and C component.   If L is large than recommended value range, what is concern? My customer wants to use just max value of L, but this L has variation. So some L is larger than max recommended value. That is why we ask you.

Thanks and best regards,
M.HATTORI

  • Hi Motoyasu,

The 0.1uF should be more near to the VIN pin to filter the high frequency noise. The recommended component table for L and C is from the stability consideration. You can use the datasheet recommended max inductor value. Typically you can use variation of 20% inductor. The selected Land C should meet the LC range, as long as the real LC range is within the recommended range, it should have no stability concern.
