ULN2003A: Question for ULN2003A power dissipation vs. ambient temperature curve

Part Number: ULN2003A

Hi Experts,

We are promoting the ULN2003ADR in our customer side to replace Rohm's BA12003B, but they request to provide the power dissipation vs. ambient temperature curve like below in competitor's datasheet. Can you help to check where we can get it? Thanks a lot!

Power dissipation vs. ambient temperature curve in Rohm's BA12003B datasheet:

  • Hi,

    Welcome to E2E!

For the ULN2003ADR we do not have an ambient vs power dissipation curve like the one in the competitor datasheet, but what we do provide is the Junction-to-ambient thermal resistance value of the ULN2003ADR. This value is θJA = 73°C/W, and can be used to approximate the maximum power dissipation allowed per ambient temperature which is the information portrayed by Figure 7 in the competitor datasheet. With the maximum recommended junction temperature of TJ = 125°C for the ULN2003ADR, the following equation can be used to calculate the power dissipation at the various ambient temperatures:

Do keep in mind that the recommended ambient temperatures conditions of the ULN2003ADR are from -40°C to 70°C.

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Best regards,

    Andy Robles
