BQ28Z610: Learning cycle discharge current

Part Number: BQ28Z610

I am doing a learning cycle for my product that use bq28z610 as gas gauge (so no separate battery pack, everything is on the same PCB). My question is can I run the application for the discharging step, or I need to devise a circuit to guarantee a constant current discharge?

From the slua777 learning cycle guide, it recommends to discharge at a rate between C/5 and C/10. However, my application runs at borderline C/5 rate (the current is not constant so sometimes it's higher, sometimes it's lower C/5). I'm not sure if that's okay for learning cycle.

Thanks!
