TPS2549: charging smartphones which is in the market now

Hi Team,

There is some USB charging controllers (TPS2549/47/46/44/43..) in TI.
Which is recommended to charge smatphones (iphone, galaxy, xperia..etc) which is in the market now?
My customer wants the device that has more interoperability among these smartphones and considers to use DCP_auto in this case.

Hello Yaita,

The TP2546 is the most popular device among all of these devices and would be the one I recommend. The TPS2547 is identical but removes the CDP-SDP auto switch feature (can read about this on the TPS2546 datasheet). The TPS2549 is similar to the TPS2546 but includes a cable compensation feature that may not be needed for your system. As far as device interoperability, they are all the same and should support the same series of devices.

My customer tested TPS2543EVM with Xperia5 and iPhoneXR however both results of charging current and DP/DM waveform weren't what we were expecting.
