BQ25896: CHRG_STAT bits stay 00 (Not Charging) when battery is charging

Does anyone know why the CHRG_STAT bits in Register 0x0B do not update when the battery is being charged?

I verified that the battery is being charged at the correct current with a multimeter.

I am able to read and write registers as expected. When I have a power source connected to Vbus, VBUS_GD in Register 0x11 reads 1.

Also, the PG_STAT bit in Register 0x0B read 1 indicating good power, but the CHRG_STAT stays reading 00.

Hi,

What are your test conditions such as VBUS (voltage at VBUS pin), IVBUS, VBAT (voltage at BAT pin), IBAT, VSYS, ISYS? Could you please provide all register values of the charger?

Hi,

I think I was not resetting the watch dog timer correctly because when I disabled it, the CHRG_STAT bits change.
