LM2674: LM2674 : stability model

Part Number: LM2674

Hello,

I got 2 question on LM2674 :

-The current limit is a peak current, rms current or average current ? If the ripple current is big the protection current can actived ? For example Io= 500mA and ripple current =1Apk_pk at 12V?

- Have you a model for test the stability of the LM2674 ( on LTSPICE or other simulator free)?

Best regard,

William LIONI.

  • Hi Lioni,

The control circuit monitor the high-side current peak value at each switching cycle, it's not RMS or average current,

The maximum current peak is about 800mA, so for 500mA load current, you need to select proper inductor value to make the inductor current ripple peak is below 800mA.

LM2674 application circuit can be simulated in free Webench on TI.com, you can check loop stability by modify the Cout and inductor per your application.

  • Hi Andy,

When launch webench on Ti.com, LM2674 is not simulated see attach.

  • Hi Lioni,

    Pls do it as below

    1. search LM2674 on TI Website

    2. input application parameter on Webench Window

    3. Open design

    4. Check simulation result on loop response.

    5. Webench doesn't support transient simulation on this device.
