TPS562201: TPS562201 ignition circuit

Part Number: TPS562201

Hi Team,

My customer is considering using TPS562201 to make the  ignition circuit. The load is a 4700uF big capacitor.

TPS562201 will first startup with no load, and then the switch turns on to charge the big capacitor. Is there any risk to do like this?

Can the MOSFET (include the body diode) withstand the high current?

thanks a lot,

Best regards,

Yang

  • Hi Yang,

The inrush current might not be too large due to the output voltage is only 1.05V. But for this application, the concern is the stability. The output capacitance is too large. If you have the EVM on hand, you can have a try with a 4700uF cap at the output side...
