INA226 input shunt range

Just to clarify the datasheet, it says the shut voltage input range is -81.9175mV to 81.92mV ... that's differential, correct? And the absolute input range is still 0-36V on IN+ and IN- ? I'm a little bit nervous about using this on the high side. I'm trying to measure 0.8A to 1.2A at about 12 volts with a 0.1 ohm shunt resistor.

Hi Christopher,

You are correct, the shunt voltage (also called sense voltage or Vsense) input range given is differential, and arises by Ohm's Law from the load current flowing across the shunt. The absolute voltage limit on each pin (also called common-mode voltage or Vcm) is from 0 to 36V, so there's no problem using the INA226 high-side at 12V.
