TPS61193: RGB Driver?

Hello,

My customer is looking for an RGB led driver that can output 40V at >20mA per channel. They want 3 or 6 channels with 11 series LEDs per channel. TPS61193 was the best option I can find, although it is a white LED driver. Is there a way to make it work, or is there another device that you can recommend?

Hi Michael,

Do you need to control the R, G, B LEDs independently? TPS61193 only supports global dimming which means that all LEDs are controlled at the same time.

Hi Sean,

We do need to control R/G/B independently. Is there a different part you can recommend for 3/6 channel, 11 LED/channel, 40Vout, >20mA per channel?

I would suggest to use TPS61169*3 or TPS61165*3 for this application.

Hi Sean,

Would TPS61196 work here? It has independent PWM dimming for each channel.

Hi Sean,

Looks like TPS61196 has a minimum LED current of 50mA, we need 20mA/channel.

Hi Michael,

You can set the maximum current to 50mA with TPS61196 and limit the current to 20mA.

Another option is the LP8863, you can check it.
