Like the BQ40Z50, BQ40Z50-R1 and BQ40Z50-R2, will TI be releasing a BQ40Z50-R3 integrated circuit?

Or should any existing BQ40Z50, BQ40Z50-R1, and BQ40Z50-R2 integrated circuits and evaluation modules (EVMs) just be upgraded to BQ40Z50-R3 firmware by downloading the .srec firmware file from TI.com?

BQ40z50-R3 is a firmware release. It is usable on any previous version of the BQ40Z50 hardware.

Understood that it was a firmware release.

Can you confirm that TI is not going to release a BQ40Z50-R3 version of the IC?

As far as I know, the BQ40Z50-R3 is a firmware only release.
