LM66100: What happens between Von and Voff?

Hello,

There is an undefined region between the Von and Voff conditions for Vce - Vin. Specifically, when Vce - Vin is between -80 mV and 0 V, the operation is not clear to me. Is there inherent hysteresis such that the direction of the voltage change defines the state, so that if the device is on and trending toward off, it stays on through that region, but if it is off and trending toward on, it stays off through that region?

I'm not quite sure I follow here- could you help clarify? Where are you getting the -80mV number from in the datasheet?

Hi Timothy,

That comes from the Von threshold range of -80 to -250 mV. The Timing Diagram (Fig. 11) appears to indicate the behavior I described originally, just want to be sure.

Hello Scott,

I understand the question now. So essentially between the -80mV to 0V is an undefined zone. Think of this as the level between a logic level low and a logic level high. The device could be on, partially on, or off.
