Two Isolated Power Designs

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28740, UCC28742

Hello

i need to design two Isolated power supplies - can you suggest the best design option(s) to use. As where I can get assistance to design the transformer

POWER A - “HH” module:

IN: 115V 400Hz  CURRENT IN max 0.6A rms

Approx max power requited:  60 W: (assuming > 85% eff.)

OUT 1:  +/- 120V DC, 0.2A rms (for POWER Amp)

OUT 2:  +/- 18V DC, 0.2A DC  ( Power for driving IC power: +/-15 for DAC,  +10V Ref for one DAC,  3.3 V for logic)

OUT 3:  +/- 18V DC 0.4A DC (must be isolated from OUT 1 & OUT 2)  ( will be used to produced regulated +15V for Display, +5V for USB, +3.3V for Logic)

POWER B - “LL” module:

IN: 26V 400Hz / Max 1.8A rms

Approx max 47 W: (assuming > 85% eff.)

OUT 1:  +/- 20VDC 1.5A rms (for POWER Amp)

OUT 2:  +/- 18V DC, 0.2A DC  ( Power for driving IC power: +/-15 for DAC,  +10V Ref for one DAC,  3.3 V for logic)

OUT 3:  +/- 18V DC 0.4A DC (must be isolated from OUT 1 & OUT 2)  ( will be used to produced regulated +15V for Display, +5V for USB, +3.3V for Logic)

  • Hello,

You could do this in a multi output fly back converter.  We have many reference designs available at the TI website.  You might be able to find one there that fits your needs. You can find these designs at the following link.

For a 60 W design the UCC28740 or UCC28742 may be a good choice for this application as well.

    Regards,
