We have designed a battery charger circuit for our application using BQ24295RGER.. Please find enclosed the schematic of the same... We are trying to operate the same in standalone mode... Now the charging current seems to be very low... can you please advise on how we can set the charger IC to allow us the maximum charging current in standalone mode.

2. If I2C communication is not used, it is recommended to short D+/D- pins together to achieve 3A input current limit. The actual input current limit is the lower one set by ILIM pin and by I2C REG00[2:0]. The minimum input current programmed on ILIM pin is 500 mA.

3. Please refer to FAQ#2 & #3 and check if they apply.

4. It will be easier to debug with reading register values via I2C. If not using I2C, please check if STAT and/or INT indicate any faults and debug from there.

Hi sir,

Even by D-/D+ short, i did not get 3A current limit.....what should i do for 1A current setting...

Amol,

After the initial input current limit detection is complete, the host may modify the input current limit via I2C to the desired input current limit.
