BQ28Z610: 1S Implementation, VC1/VC2 Pins

Part Number: BQ28Z610

I've found this post requesting a reference schematic for a 1S implementation of BQ28Z610:

The suggestion is made to simply short VC1 and VC2 pins at the battery pack, but is this the only consideration?

Is any additional filtering or other steps needed for the IC to operate in a 1S configuration?
