Hi Team,

Customer is designing speaker application

Would you please provide recommend the buck solution for the requirement?

Requirements:

1. Vin =2.7~5.5 Max=6V

2. default vout=0.8V

3. I2C DAC 0.6~1.15V 10 or 6.25mV resolution. (6.25mV will be better)

4. PWM accuracy +/-1%

5. I2C has two addresses.

6. Maximum current above 4A

7. Efficiency 5V to 0.8V

Load= 0.1~1A >85%

Load =1A ~90%

Load =2A ~88%

Load=3A ~86%

Hello SHH,

It might not be an exact fit but for those criteria I would suggest TPS53915. If you will be using TPS53915 below a 4.5V input it will need an external bias and the output voltage adjustment is slightly different than you had mentioned, but it is the closest fit to your request I can think of.

Hi Layne,

TPS53915 package is too large and over kill our requirements

Is there better solution than TPS62866?

Thank you for the valuable feedback!

TPS62866 is not up to expectations on efficiency numbers if I understand customer requirements, Am I right?

We do not have at this point a better solution than TPS62866 in our current portfolio fitting all the check marks you presented.
