BQ34Z100-G1: Post Learning Cycle Settings for Limited Cycle Depth Field Use

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

Primary questions:

1. What settings should I update after a full depth 2.75V to 4.2V learning cycle to prepare the gauge for field use where charge termination voltage will always be 4.0V?

2. What settings control when the gauge detects FC?

3. And what would ensure Qmax and Full Charge Capacity are updated to the useful capacity in a 3.0V to 4.0V operational range so that SOC reports 100% at 4.0V?

Background:

I struggled through several attempts at a successful learning cycle where my test system was stuck at 100% Max Error. I was charging from 2.75V to 4.0V, I would get VOK to set and clear as expected, FC would set as expected, OCVTAKEN would get set after the rest period, but the Ra Table would not update.

When I changed my learning cycle to charge to 4.2V and changed "Cell Charge Voltage T2-T3" to 4.2V I was able to get Learned Status 0x05 on the first full cycle. I think it quit part way through the discharge when the RUP_DIS bit got set. Then I got 0x06 on the second full rest-charge-rest-discharge-rest cycle.

I am now preparing Data Memory to create a field configuration. Clearly I should change the "Cell Charge Voltage" and "Cell Terminate Voltage" to my final application of 4000mV and 3000mV respectively.

I know that Cell Terminate Voltage and Reserve Cap-mAh control the conditions that SOC changes to 0%. What controls the post-learning-cycle updates to FCC and Qmax and the setting of SOC to 100%?
