Transformer Bobbin Fit Calculation

Hi TI Experts,

I am working on the Phase shifted Full bridge converter. I am trying to Optimize my Transformer Design. But always facing an issue that the designed number of turns and gauge are not exactly fitting the bobbin. i wanted to try different combinations like primary litz wire and secondary copper foil, Primary  normal AWG wire and secondary litz wire , Both primary and secondary as Normal AWG wire etc...

So can anybody suggest a good application note or Excel design files from TI for Bobbin fit checking.

Regards

Aneesh

  • Hello Aneesh,

There are multiple books you may be able to find books on how to design a transformer in switching mode power supplies. There are also many articles. You find these tricks over there. There is no shortcut to handle the tricks with a few points. So please just go ahead to study a book as well as other published articles.

Unfortunately, we do not have any application notes in suggesting transformer designs.

    Regards,

    Sonal
