Background

We use a TPS61201A be a power supply for 4G wireless module which supply voltage be set at 3.75V.

And we do the testing of TPS61201A circuit performance about start up with load.

When the loading current over 150mA,the IC can not start up successfully.

The circuit shown below :

Test data :

start up failure at 0.155A loading as below shown

Please help me to analyze this problem ,thanks !

Dear Sir,

The max startup load current for TPS61021A is very small, especially when the battery voltage is low.

So generally, we suggest the customer to enable the TPS61021A at no load, after the Vout rise to the target value, then add the load.

Could you provide some startup parameter about TPS61021A's load current ?

We want to how small current that TPS61021A can provide at different battery voltage input .

And cloud you give me some advice about the choosen of boost IC in this case?

When Vin=0.9V, the startup load current is only as low as 20mA.

What is your input voltage?

Dear Helen,

Our input voltage is a range that from 2.5V to 3.2V.

Usually the input is around the 3.2V.

So, could you tell me the startup load current under the input voltage that I metioned above?

Hi Jun,

When Vin=2.5V or above , the startup current can be 250mA.
