Part Number: TPS54331
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS56339, TPS54302

Hello,

can anybody tell me what is meant with V_ref in this formular? Page 15 in datasheet and topic point 9.2.2.3

    Hi Fabian,

Vref means voltage reference, and you can find its min/typ/max value at the Electrical Characteristics table(Page6).

    Thanks.

  • Hi,

thanks. Is there actually an offset Voltage? For example that V_in hast to be at  least 0.5V higher than V_out?

    Hi Fabian,

TPS54331 is a non-sync BUCK converter with high-side N-MOSFET integrated. To ensure there is enough driver voltage at the gate of high-side N-MOSFET, Vin shoule better be 2.1V higher than Vout.

To support large duty cycle applications, sync BUCK like TPS54302/TPS56339 should be more applicable.

    Thanks.
