Hi team,
Why the Iout max of LM25141-Q1 is 20A displayed in the ti.com? Can I use it for 25A output current? What's the risk when the output current exceeds 20A?

Hi Charles,
Thanks for the question. There is no pre-defined maximum for the output current as this is a controller. It just depends on power stage component selection (FETs and inductor) and the PCB design as these relate to the achievable thermal performance. Another key factor is the switching frequency.
Please use the LM25141-Q1 quickstart calculator to assist with component selection.

Tim
Hi Charles,
Zero risk in terms of the controller. I just submitted the request to increase this current spec to 30A. Should be online tomorrow.
