LM25116: additional info on Current input internal circuit?

Part Number: LM25116
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Team,

I have seen the following E2E post already (https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management/f/196/p/854324/3159358#3159358 and I have looked as well at Fig 31 section 7.3.7 of the LM25116 Datasheet.

-Are there some more on-chip component connected to the CS and CSG inputs?
For example are there some additional filtering done on the CS and CSG inputs?
-Is the PSPICE/TINA-TI average model accurately simulating current limit function?

Thanks in advance,

A.

  • Hi Anber,

I will check on the PSPICE model with our modeling team. In terms of the IC, external RC filtering is required if the current sense signal has noise (normally not required if the layout is good and the CS and CSG traces are routed as a diff pair from the shunt to the controller). There is some minor blanking on the current sense after LO goes high.

    Regards,

    Tim

  • Hi Anber,

Typically for PSpice Average models, only pins affecting AC response would be modelled.

Please refer LM25116 PSpice Transient model to verify CS and CSG pin behavior.
