TPS65131: Maximum Current on the input side

Part Number: TPS65131

Hi Team, when the device is operating, at +/-15V output and 5.5V input, we would like to know the current-driven on the input side.

Thank you very much.

Regards,

Mark

  • Hi Mark,

  • Hello Mark,

You can calculate input current for each converter with the equation Iin= Iout * (Vout/(Vin*n))+ (ripple current/2). So the input current will depend on the output load current, ripple current and converter efficiency. As an approximation, you can assume 80% efficiency (n=0.8) and ripple current to be 25% of Iout load current (ripple current =0.25*Iout).

    Kind Regards,
