TPS562201: SW pin with oscillation

Part Number: TPS562201
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS561208, TPS562200, TPS562208

When we tested tps561208 and tps562201, we found that the SW foot of 2201 oscillated a little. Please help to see if it is a normal phenomenon?

In addition, this comparison is made on the same board and tested by chip change. 1208 has no oscillation and 2201 has oscillation.

Before we tested the working waveform of tps56200, there were similar abnormalities, all of which were of the same series.

  • HI HY,

TPS562201 and TPS562200 are Pulse-Skip Mode. And TPS562208 is FCCM mode.

When at light load, TPS562201 and TPS562200 will have pulse skip to maintain high efficiency. While TPS562208 will force generate pulse even at light loading. So, i think your test waveforms are under light load, so TPS562201 is pulse skip where you will see the SW oscillation when HSD and LSD are both off. While, TPS562208 is always switching.

    Thanks,
