Part Number: TPS55288-EVM-GUI
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS55288, USB2ANY

I did everything as described in the Windows/Firefox section of

But I still see the error message

Could not launch TI Cloud Agent: Failed to start TICloudAgent: unknown error.

What now?

  • Hi Christian,

What kind of folder will you want to achieve? If you want to use TPS55288 GUI. Please refer to the attached TPS55288 user guide section 4 for a reference.  Down load the related file and install them.

  • Sorry, forget the UG. Please check the attached file. SLVUBV0 TPS55288EVM-053 UG.pdf

  • Dear Sir,

To use TPS55288 GUI, you need to install

    1. install the USB2ANY software.

    2. downloaded the TPS55288-EVM-GUI, (two software packages to download to use the GUI locally- the "Windows" and the "Windows runtime".  click on "Windows". Two files started to download, the TPS55288 zip (28.6 MB) and the
    gcruntime-7.2.0 (126 MB).)

    3. install the runtime-7.2.0, then install the GUI.

Please tell me in which step you need to down load TI cloud? Since no other customer report this issue before.

  • Dear Helen Chen,

You question was : "Please tell me in which step you need to down load TI cloud?"

Answer: I need to download the TI cloud agent during the installation procedure of the online version that is offered via this page:

    Again:

    - I tried to install the desktop version - no success (err msg after trying to start the GUI was: connection to 127.0.0.1 refused)

    and

    - I tried to install the online version - no successs (err msg was: Could not launch TI Cloud Agent: Failed to start TICloudAgent: unknown error.)

Yesterday, one of our IT specialists got the ONLINE version up and running on my PC, but ONLY under an ADMINSTRATOR account!

But this is way too dangerous and I am not allowed to work under an administrator account; this is against our IT safety rules!

    What can I do?

  • Got it.

I suggest you install desktop version if you have download it successfully. By the way, have you install gcruntime at the same time?

Below is the requirement for your computor.

    1.  I have Windows 10 Pro, Version 1809, Build 17763.1098 running on my PC
    2.  I installed USB2ANY Explorer v2.8.2.0 - works!
    3.  I downloaded and startet TPS55288-1.0.0.setup-win_7.2.0.exe
    4. Setup asks me for an administrator account
      1. I typed in my admin account data
      2. TPS55288 Wizard starts
      3. I agree to the license
      4. Setup aks me for an Application Directory: I leave it as suggested: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Texas Instruments"
      5. Setup asks me for a Runtime Directory: Setup suggests a directory which is only available to my administrator account, so I chose instead "C:\Texas Instruments"
      6. Setup aks me to install GUI Composer Runtime, I chose "Download from Web"
      7. now I see that numerous files are getting unpacked and installed...
      8. TPS55288 Setup Wizards cmpletes; I chose "Launch TPS55288"
      9. a dialog window "README" appears
      10. Win Firewall pops up; i allow communication of nwjs in private network, but not in public
      11. looking good!

    Now it works! Hooray!

    Thanks, Helen!

  • That's great, congratulations!
