BQ34Z100-G1: HDQ Interface connection to multiple hosts

Part Number: BQ34Z100-G1

We are developing a battery test system to interface with an existing battery pack and its charger (3 batteries per charger, batteries use the BQ34Z100-G1). The charger is already monitoring the HDQ comms for its charging purposes, we also need to monitor the battery data from the BQ34Z100-G1 with our test system. Can we set up two hosts on this communication structure? The charger would send the request and then receive the reply, our system would just "listen" and not send a request. Before we get too deep into development I would like to know if this is possible or not.

The attached flow chart shows the application, there are links built-in for each component in this pdf. The part in question is the HDQ interface for these batteries, the blue is what is existing and the orange is what we are proposing to add.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.BTS Communication Interface Flow REV01.pdf
