TPS23861: Temp address writing failed for one chip of two tps23861 with daisy chain configuration.

Part Number: TPS23861

When I executed global command 30h+AAh+temp address writing to two tps23861 chips with daisy chain configuration, only one chip is written into temp address successfully while another failed. Here are some questions :

1: If it is due to an improper up-pull resistor (1k ohm) for SCL and SDAO that caused failure of writing to two chips simultaneously.

2: If the global command 30h is influenced by A3 and AIN?

  • Hi Andrew,

    1. 1k is okay. The IC can handle sinking current of 20mA.

    2. Since the two 861 is connected by daisy configuration AOUT1 to AIN2 this is okay. And Global command is NOT influenced by A3 as stated in the datasheet.

Have you tried connecting the I2C connections of your board to the GUI of the EVM to verify two separate addresses?
