WEBENCH® Tools/LM5002: boost power supply

Part Number: LM5002
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5155

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hi.

I would like to have a boost power supply with input 3.7 lithium battery  (minimimum 3.2V maximum 4.2V) and output 75V  75mA.

Is it possible with lm5002 or other  ?

Can i do it with webench ?

Thanks

Mario

  • Hi Mario,

Thanks for reaching out with your question and for considering the LM5002 in your design.

Unfortunately the LM5002 will not work for this application as the peak switch current will be greater than 1.7A.

A better solution would be using the LM5155, and tie the VCC pin and the BIAS pin together. Connecting these pins will allow for start up at 3.2V. To meet work around the duty cycle limitation of the LM5155 the controller will need to operate in discontinuous conduction mode always. This is not currently supported by WEBENCH.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks,

    Garrett
