UCC27201A: UCC27201 supply currents

Part Number: UCC27201A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27201

Hi team,

I have a question about UCC27201 supply currents as described in datasheet page 6.

What is IHBSO (HB to VSS operating current ) ? Is it the leakage operating current between the high-side driver and the low-side driver ?

Because IDDO (VDD operating current) is the supply of the low-side driver and IHBO (Boot voltage operating current) is the supply of the high-side driver.

Here you are a schematic.

BR,

Mathieu

  • Hello Mathieu,

    Thanks for reaching out.

IHBSO is the HB to VSS quiescent current which typically occurs during the replenishing cycle of the bootstrap capacitor when the low-side FET is on, high-side FET OFF.

Please let us know if you have additional questions.

    Regards,

    -Mamadou

  • Ok, thank you for your quick answer and the detailed description !

Maybe it depends slightly of duty cycle. I update schematic with two different input signals of 50% duty.

Do you think it's correct test schematic to characterize supply currents ?

  • Hello Mat,

I work with Mamadou supporting half bridge drivers and can help with the question. The schematic you show looks correct regarding characterizing the UCC27201/A operating currents.

Confirm if this addresses your questions or you can post additional questions on this thread.

    Regards,
