AC/DC Converter Recommendation

Hello,

I need an AC/DC converter for a battery pack charger. This product requires an AC/DC converter to convert 110 Vac– 240Vac (50-60Hz) power to a DC voltage for the battery charger (5-30Vdc). Most likely 24Vdc. At the peak the battery charger will require 71Watts to charge the battery. Do you have any recommendations for what would be the best TI solution?

    Hello,

    Do to the low input voltage of 24V, I would recommend using one of the UCC28C42 in a fixed frequency flyback converter.

    These device has a lower UVLO than are other controllers and has a duty cycle that can vary from 2% to 100% which should help support this wide input range.

    Hello,

    Sorry, I misread your specifications.  The UCC28742 with opto feedback in a flyback.  It has constant current/constant voltage control which is ideal for battery chargers.
