Hi Team,

Customer is designing

Would you please provide suggestion for a power switch with programmable power limit function?

Input voltage : 20V
Maximum current = 2A (capability nice to have 2A)
Power limit= current loading over 0.7A and then output will start dropping and limit total output power.
The voltage drop is acceptable but protection should not auto-recovery (retry) and latch.

From spec, it looks difficult as min. current limit of TPS2663 is 0.6A. Let me check with the team and get back to you by early next week.

The min power limit possible with TPS2663 is 40W.

Hi SHH,

The min power limit possible with TPS2663 or TPS1663 is 40W

TPS2477x hot-swap controller is another option. Please refer Section 10.2.5 in the datasheet for 240W power limit example. In the similar way, it can be configured for 15W.

TPS2477x hot-swap controller is not suitable for your application as it operating voltage is limited to 18V.
