TPS62000: Part number question

Part Number: TPS62000

Can you (or your product expert) tell me what the difference is between TI pn TPS62000DGS and TPS62000DGSG4 (both are 80 pc tubes) and TPS62000DGSR and TPS62000DGSRG4 (both are 2500 pc reels).  In looking at the data sheet, I can figure out what the difference is (all have the same package type – VSSOP, same number of pins, MSL, OP Temp and device marking)???

  • Hi,

The devices with the G4-suffix and the devices without the G4 suffix has no difference at all. (They use the same die, same package, etc and is exactly the same.)

The G4-suffix was used by TI when we were transitioning to "lead-free" materials and this marking was solely for internal purpose. Today, we are still using the G4-suffix naming and the non-G4 (for our older devices) in parallel for convenience so that our customers do not have to change their BOMs.

I hope my explanation is helpful and that you will be fine to close this thread.
