TLV755P: >500us ramp time LDO

Part Number: TLV755P
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DP83869HM,

Hi LDO team,

My customer is considering to use DP83869HM and they are looking for LDO meets power supply sequence.
minimum VDDA2P5 is 500us and I promoted TLV755P but it supports 550us start up time but actually ramp time is approx 300us.

Question here is
- are there any way to meet 500us ramp time with TLV755P?
- are there any 5V_LDO suppporting >500us ramp time, fixed 2.5Vout and X2SON package?

Regards,
Kai

  • Hello Kai,

The total startup time is composed of the "delay time" and the "rise time".
For this device, the "rise time" can be closer to 300us as you have noted.

It's possible that increasing the output capacitance to >100uF will slow down the rise time, at the expense of additional inrush current during turn on.
Alternatively if the LDO is enabled prior to the input power supply being present, or enable is tied to the input power supply, then the LDO will track the input power supply as it ramps on.  That is another option to meeting this specification.

    Thanks,
