BQ40Z50-R1 CUV AUTO Recovery Problem

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hi, Professior

During my resently test, I found a Problem. Even if I have set “CUV_RECOV_CHG=1” , but there is still some battery Auto Recovery from CUV without Charger. And if you continue to Discharge the abnormal battery to CUV, it's still working! (Which mean the Pack Voltage keep 0V, Only by connect the Charger can it'll be Recovery.)

Could you help me to analize the real reason? Thanks.

The attachment is my gg configuration document and Abnormal test Picture.

  • Can you share a bqStudio log file with us so that we can see more details? Thanks.

  • This abnormal phenomenon was discovered during trial production. Almost 100% of the battery will appear during the aging process: after over-discharge protection, it will automatically recover during the standing process, and from my gg file configuration And the aging cabinet data, it can be seen that although it will automatically recover, the recovered output voltage has not reached the voltage point at which the over-discharge protection is released, which is very strange. With the same configuration, we have used it in other projects for several years, and there has never been such an exception.

The abnormal fuel gauge Log data you need, I tried to grab it in the past, but unfortunately, this situation will not appear when the fuel gauge is connected to the communication. It will age normally according to the set method.

The first aging, because of the abnormal battery that is automatically restored after over-discharge protection, keep the aging cabinet point unchanged, and empty it again after being recharged, there will be no such problems.

Can you help us analyze it from a more professional perspective? Or can you give some suggestions to solve the problem? Thank you very much.

  • Hello?

Can you give me some response? Thanks.

  • Unfortunately, it is very difficult to tell what the root cause is without a good bqStudio log file.  I would still recommend you try to capture a log file.  It doesn't make sense to me that this issue doesn't occur if bqStudio is communicating with the gauge device. I guess you can try different log intervals.

Also, I see you are using v1.06 firmware, which is a bit old. I would suggest you try a newer version (e.g.v2.14 or v3.09) and see if this issue still happens.
